Comparison

Speybl vs. Alveno

Both handle attendance, absence and shifts. Speybl adds recruitment, performance and development on top, so the whole employee lifecycle runs in one system from the job ad to offboarding.

The short answer

Where they differ

The two overlap on attendance, absence, documents, asset records and training. The difference is scope: Alveno has no applicant tracking and no performance module1 — so it is missing the beginning and the continuous middle of the employee lifecycle, which Speybl covers from the job ad to offboarding. Neither of us processes payroll; both prepare the data and hand it to a payroll system.

Grey italics means "does not have it" or "handles it differently". What a connection to a payroll or accounting system can actually do always depends on that other system too — on its API and on what it lets in and out. The table contains no prices: every vendor calculates them differently and some do not publish them at all, so a price comparison would be misleading.

Where the difference is

Three places where the paths diverge

  1. Recruitment and performance

Alveno has no applicant tracking and no performance module.1 A company that wants to handle recruiting or a performance cycle alongside attendance will need a third system. Speybl covers the whole lifecycle from recruitment to offboarding.

  2. Data into the system, not just out of it

Alveno's API is included in the price, but read-only.4 You can get data out of it; you cannot write anything into it from your own application or another system. Speybl has a REST API for reading and writing, plus webhooks. If you plan to automate anything inbound, that difference shows up immediately.

  3. Work that is not an add-on here

Travel expenses with allowance calculation, benefits and bonuses, surveys and whistleblowing are all modules inside the Speybl plan; at Alveno, as of September 24, 2026, we found records only for travel expenses and could not find the rest.1, 2 We charge per employee, so going from fifty people to fifty-one means one more license, not a jump into a higher package.3

When Speybl makes sense

Who Speybl is for

Choose Speybl if…

  • you want the whole lifecycle in one place — from recruiting through performance to offboarding
  • you need to write data into the system through the API, not just read it out
  • you would rather not buy attendance hardware as a separate investment
  • you want agents to do the routine steps and you to approve them
